In July 2024, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) updated its Standards of Design, aiming to provide developers with increased flexibility and cost-saving opportunities. Key changes include the removal of mandatory patios and balconies, reduced parking space ratios for non-senior developments, allowance for efficiency dwelling units, adjusted elevator requirements for smaller buildings, and new EV infrastructure mandates. These updates apply to projects using MSHDA's Direct Lending Program and select LIHTC developments, reflecting a shift toward more adaptable, market-responsive housing solutions.

Mitten Kids Dentistry is now open in Grand Rapids, located on the first floor of the 100 Crahen Office Building. This 7,000 sq. ft. pediatric dental office, designed by HDJ and built by BDR, features 23 exam rooms, a lab, sterilization area, and more, offering top-tier care to the community.
Parker Glen II, a new affordable apartment community in the heart of Champaign, IL, is under construction, building on the success of Parker Glen I to provide high-quality housing for local residents. The community will offer amenities such as a playground, on-site maintenance and laundry, and a community room to enhance residents' living experience.
