MSHDA Updates Standards of Design: What You Need to Know
In July 2024, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) updated its Standards of Design, aiming to provide developers with increased flexibility and cost-saving opportunities. Key changes include the removal of mandatory patios and balconies, reduced parking space ratios for non-senior developments, allowance for efficiency dwelling units, adjusted elevator requirements for smaller buildings, and new EV infrastructure mandates.
